GENRE: Historical Fiction

REESE SAYS: “The book centers on the meteoric rise of a rock band in the ‘70s and its lead singers Daisy Jones and Billy Dunne, whose connection is as electric as the music they make together. When a music producer realizes that the combination of Daisy Jones and The Six is a formula for guaranteed success, no one says no to the smell of potential fame.

It turns out, the producer was right. When Daisy Jones joins The Six, they become the most famous rock band of that age. But with fame comes responsibility they aren’t equipped to handle. The group ends up splitting up at the height of their fame. And no one knows exactly why, until now.

Moved by the idea of potential love, Eleanor starts to break out of her routine. In doing so, she gains so much more than she could’ve ever anticipated. But shaking up her everyday routine also stirs up some of her past and brings it to the surface.

On his death bed, Ren’s master made him promise he would track down his long-lost finger and bury it with him. Ren agreed in earnest, believing the ancient legend that a soul will wander the earth forever if its body is not buried whole.

Ji Lin comes across the finger after a dance hall patron accidentally lets it slip from his possession.

In Ren’s attempt to find the finger, and Ji Lin’s attempt to get rid of it, they finally cross paths, realizing that the other might have the answers they need.

In 1915, Eve Gardinier is recruited to join the Alice Network—a group of female spies run by a woman named Lili. Eve’s job is to eavesdrop on the German soldiers who come into the cafe where she poses as a waitress.
